4 Curiosity-Building Rules On How To Handle Family & Friends For Criticizing You At Having Joined A Network Marketing Business Opportunity

by admin on October 29, 2009

In an effort to better your financial future for you and your family, you have determined to look into joining a home based business opportunity. You did your due diligence, reviewed their compensation plans and read every review about various opportunities that were of interest to you.

Now you have made up your mind and purchased the business kit.

When the business kit arrives on your doorsteps a few days after your sign up, you leap out of your car in excitement. After you bring the kit inside you call your wife and gently place the package in the middle of the kitchen table. Both of you eagerly open the package and start to glance at all the printed material, the dvds, the samples, etc.

You scoop up a couple of the product samples along with a presentation dvd and head out the door to make a quick visit to your brother who only lives two houses away from you. Better grab a few more samples and stop by our neighbor Ed’s house and have him watch the video with us.

A half-hour later, you walk into your house. Crestfallen. You tell your wife that Ed watched about six minutes of the presentation and said it was just another one of those home business scams and that got your brother going about how you were always looking to make money from home in a get rich quick scheme that never panned out.

Sound familiar?

Rule #1. Never tell family and friends that you have joined a/another home based business. This will only lead you to them digging up every one of your previous business ventures that were less of a success. Who needs that kind of negativity?

Rule #2. Do not respond to their questions as to why are you never around anymore. Let them grow more and more curious. We know that you might be out doing one-on-one presentations or maybe you are spending all of your free time doing online marketing for your business instead of being over at Ed’s slurping down the suds. If they ask what you are up to, just pique their curiosity even more with a statement like: What am I up to? You wouldn’t believe me if I told you.

Rule #3. When financial changes start to gradually happen in your life, do not say a word. Your new car, your wife’s new car and your children having the latest electronic gizmos will do all the talking for you. If a question comes your way like, what did you do to get all this new stuff, rob a bank? Yup, that’s exactly what I did how else could I afford all this?

Rule #4. Finally when the moving truck arrives to take you and your family to your huge, new house across town you can now spill the beans. Hey, Ed, remember that night couple of years bacj when we went over to my brother’s to watch that network marketing scam presentation as you called it? Remember that? Humongous mistake your not getting in when I did. You ready to sign up now?

In all probability Ed will not sign-up now as he will say no one can make money in your mlm business opportunity anymore, the market is saturated. Imagine if Ed had gotten in when you got in a few years back. You probably would have spent the better part of your precious time trying to keep Ed motivated and in return you would have lost yours.

Bottom line: family and friends want you to get by…just not by them.
